Reasons why your property might not be selling
1. No kerb appeal – buyers often won't even get out of their cars if they are turned off by their first impression.
2. Clutter – If buyers can't see the space they will not believe it is there. They will also think the house has too little storage.
3. The property looks too lived in – if the house looks too much like 'your' home buyers might not be able to see it being 'their' home
4. Ugly kitchen and bathroom – replacing these are considered large jobs and will put most buyers off.
5. Insufficient Lighting – Light has an enormous effect on mood. If your house it dark and you have no introduced sufficient lighting it will create a red flag to buyers.
6. Too much/ too little colour – A completely blank canvas or over personalised colours may both leave the buyers feeling cold.
7. Outstanding jobs – Anything that signals 'work' will instantly put buyers off and reduce the perceived value of the property.
8. Old and outdated décor – Giving the house a face-lift may seem too much like hard work for buyers, they will opt for the styled property down the street.
9. No furnishings – An empty property requires an enormous amount of imagination from the buyer and has very little emotional appeal (see why you should never sell an empty property)
10. Bad odours – This is an immediate turn off which signals unhygienic, unhealthy environment to buyers.
